Site Info
Purpose
The main purpose of this site is to share information and code related to my work as a Systems Librarian. Our Library uses the Voyager integrated library system (ILS), and I am the Voyager system administrator, so much of the site content is apropos to that application.
Graphics
Graphics are from various places, including the
World Wide Web Consortium (W3C),
O'Reilly & Associates, the UTA
Web Style Guide, and
NASA. The waving-guy gif was created by Fabian Lee and is used by permission.
Site Search
The site search utilizes
SWISH-E (Simple Web Indexing System for Humans - Enhanced). The original SWISH was written by Kevin Hughes.
Programming
The CGI programming on this site is done with Perl. Other than John Millard's SWISH-CGI interface, it is my handiwork.
Web Standards
The code on this site (exclusive of the
VUGM 2000 Technical Session) should conform to the W3C's
XHTML 1.0 recommendation.
I also try to separate presentation from content via
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
Usability
The intent is that this site can be read by
any browser.
Since CSS is unevenly supported, appearance may vary slightly between browsers, but content and structure should not be affected.
