About the Database

The Unicode Relational Database Utility (URDU) is a database comprised of character set data of interest to libraries. It was created to facilitate the development of some character set conversion routines in Perl.

It is also used to dynamically generate some of the charts and character set mapping pages in the Coded Character Sets tutorial.
